Thai Black or White Magic

Thai Magic and Amulets - Black and White Magic

Many people ask us about Thai Buddha Magic, and if it is Black Magic or White Magic. The answer is not as easy to give as one would think, because, firstly Some people would argue that all forms of Thai Occult Sorcery and Magic are Black magic (or as we prefer to say 'Dark Arts')

We found one website writing that there is a certain cross-over between the lines, which in our opinion is also a false or badly thought out statement. because you cant have something that is half white magic half black magic. if there is any darks arts in an amulet, the one could not possible say it is partly white magic partly dark magic. There are many websites these days writing about amulets, where the author has little self knowledge and is writing for readership more than distributing true knowledge about Thai Black or White Magic.

In the same sense that you cannot have an amulet that is partly black magic and partly white magic,, you can;t be half dead, or half alive, you are either dead or alive. You cannot be half pregnant either, you are either pregnant, or not. In this sense, an amulet is either dark magic, white magic, or gray magic

gray magic is not a mixture of dark arts and white arts, rather, neutral, and does neither auspicious or destructive things in its goals or intentions, rather, is part of the art of magic which cannot be defined as good or evil, dark or white arts.

Below; Holy Water Blessing performed to bring change in one's luck, and also to banish evil forces and curses and negative Karma - white or black magic???

There are magic spells which are for auspicious goals and purposes, such as blessings, healing, and lucky bring, or for protection., and there are also magic spells for cursing, or bringing disruption to the lives of one's enemies.
Below, necromantic animist charm used as a spirit assistant, which can be used for commanding to perform missions for the owner, and can be used for auspicious or inauspicious, helpful or harmful purposes. Such a Necromantic Effigy we would say has used Dark arts for its creation and empowerment, but that the person who uses it, can have an influence on whether those dark arts are used to harm others, gain profits, or to attract persons, who one may treat well, speak truthfully to, or deceive with our powers of convincing. hence, the below would be called a dark Arts amulet, but which is not always necessarily used for evil purposes. However, the creation method is inauspicious. and carries a payback price in the long run, as to most fast routes to success

We prefer to use the words 'auspicious and inauspicious' or 'harmful or helpful' to describe the type of magic used for a Thai Buddhist Amulet, but of course the common term which most people understand is black magic and white magic.

In the end, all forms of occult practice have a price to pay, but some works justify the repercussions, or effects received compared to the costs you bear (be they monetary or Karmic), and so there is possibly no such thing as white magic if seen in this light. Most of us understand the term 'white magic' to mean magic that heals, protects, and helps you to prosper, regain health or find happiness. Black magic can be a curse to harm others, or could be a form of magic that does not aim to harm, but which uses inauspicious methods to empower the amulet, or methods which bear karmic consequences (such as forcing ghosts to work for you using binding spells, as seen in the case of Kumarn Tong and Hun Payont, and other similar animist necromantic sorcery.

Signs of being Cursed or Spellboud by Black Magic

Traditionally, in Thailand, there are various ways that people would notice or say that a person has been cursed, possessed, or affected by black magic or dark forces;

Strange Behaviour or speaking in tongues, or speaking as if one were somebody else.

A person has a seizure or some kind of trance or behaves with great reluctance when taken to a temple, or to meet a Lersi or a Monk for blessings/exorcism

Unexplainable Illnesses, or feeling obsessed with somebody you would normally not be interested in.
Bad Luck and Accidents happening on a much more frequent rate than the usual

Feeling an evil presence, or hearing voices, or a large variety of other disturbing effects.

Also apparent forms of Madness, such as writhing around on the floor as one were an animal.
Thai Buddha Magic is so embedded into Thai Cultural Beliefs, that one can see the topic is common even in modern tv shows and soap operas, which feature Black magic and the power of Monks, Lersi and their Amulets as commonplace matters.

If we were to give you a straight answer as to what kind of Buddha Magic is Black Magic, and which is White, we would say that any amulet which assists to break the 5 Buddhist Moral precepts, or any amulet whose creation method or empowerment requires the use of Necromancy, Cursing Others, or have an effect which harms, deceives, or assists you to perform immoral acts, is potentially Black magic,

As to white magic, amulets which are created and empowered using Buddhist prayers and sacred Buddhist relics or artifacts, and are intended to lessen the sufferings of others without harming anybody else, and to bring prosperity through following the moral precepts as part of the method of worship of the amulet, is white magic.
